Coaching Services
Every coaching journey begins with a conversation. Whether you’re navigating a leadership transition, seeking greater clarity in your personal life, or looking to align your strengths with your purpose, coaching provides the space to reflect, grow, and move forward with confidence. Jim’s coaching engagements are designed to meet you where you are, offering personalized guidance, practical tools, and meaningful accountability to help you create lasting change.
Offer One - Take Ownership
- 6 or 12 weeks (your choice of pace)
- 6 core sessions based on your CliftonStrengths® results
- Best For: Leaders who want self-awareness and a strengths-based leadership toolkit fast
- You Leave With: A written strengths profile and a plan to lead from it daily
Six sessions spent going through the Strengths Alignment Process (SAP), so you know yourself better and learn how to lead from your individual strengths. This is the foundation every other offer builds on, and it stands complete on its own for leaders who want clarity and a practical strengths toolkit without a longer commitment.
Offer Two - Take Charge
- 3 or 6 months (your choice of pace)
- SAP (6 sessions) + ongoing sessions through the Five Domains framework
- Best For: Leaders ready to move from self-awareness into an actual strategic plan
- You Leave With: A personal strategic plan spanning purpose, health, relationships, finances, and legacy
We start with the six sessions of the SAP, then apply your strengths to navigate the five domains of forming and implementing your own personal strategic plan. This offer takes the self-knowledge from Take Ownership and turns it into a concrete, whole-life plan.
Offer Three - Total Transformation
- 12 months of ongoing coaching
- SAP + Five Domains, plus continued work on limiting beliefs and obstacles
- Best For: Leaders who want full transformation, not just a plan on paper
- You Leave With: Confidence! Not only do you know yourself at a deeper level (SAP) and have a strategic plan, you have exposed your limiting beliefs and obstacles. You have also discovered the mental shift that needs to take place to dismantle those impediments permanently.
Twelve months of coaching designed to help you go from where you are to where you want to be. I recommend starting with the SAP to build self-awareness, followed by the Five Domains to put a strategic plan in place. From there, we’ll work through the limiting beliefs and other obstacles the first two stages have surfaced. This package is ideal for someone looking to get completely unstuck and off the hamster wheel… for good!
Coaching vs Counseling

Coaching is Not Counseling
This is important to understand the distinction.
- Counseling tends to focus more on understanding emotional or psychological health, often through reflection on and addressing issues from the past.
- Coaching is future-focused, aimed at helping the client gain clarity on their current situation, reframe their mindset, and take action toward specific goals, making traction in areas where they previously felt stuck.
Coaching is not the same as therapy, nor is it mentoring or consulting.
Coaching might be done concurrently, but has different goals.
- A consultant is a subject matter expert who analyzes the problem and gives advice and guidance based on their knowledge of the field
- A mentor is a trusted friend or expert who gives guidance based on their personal experience in similar situations.
- A therapist helps people overcome traumatic events or negative voices from their past.
- A coach sees the client as the subject matter expert, because the subject is YOU, Not the problem you bring to coaching.
If you have wounds from the past, you might need therapy to address those.
Your past definitely shapes the person you are today. Coaching assumes a certain level of baseline functioning now, and helps you move forward. Coaching helps you recognize ingrained behavior patterns that are so much a part of you that you cannot see them. Coaching brings those patterns into the light, helps you assess them, then YOU decide what change is needed to bring you more success and enjoyment in life, relationships, and career.
Two definitions of what coaching is:
“A coaching session is the gift of time to think more deeply [about yourself].”
– COACHING THE BRAIN by Joseph O’Connor & Andrea Lages
“Coaching IS unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.”
– Sir John Witmore
